According to South Korea's ETNews report, following the recent adoption of mini-LED technology in Apple's highest-end 12.9-inch iPad Pro, Apple plans to adopt OLED screens in some iPad models next year.

The report quoted industry sources as saying that starting in 2022, Apple will use OLED displays instead of LCDs in some iPad models. The report did not specify which ‌iPad‌ models will switch from LCD technology to OLED technology, but a credible Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reported that the mid-range iPad Air will at least update its OLED display next year.

Last month, Apple launched a new 12.9-inch ‌iPad Pro‌ with mini-LED technology. Compared with LCD, it provides deeper blacks, higher contrast, and higher brightness. Apple is expected to continue to use mini-LED display technology in the new MacBook Pro as early as this year.
